Oldest Cornalin vine in Leuk
For example, the oldest vine in Switzerland, a Cornalin, grows in the middle of Leuk-Stadt. It was planted in 1798. The winegrowers in the "Vitis Antiqua" association had offshoots grafted from the old vine, which they planted in a mother garden in a prime location in Leuk. Today, the Cornalin "Vitis Antiqua 1798" is one of the award-winning Swiss wines.
